Marsala – Pantone Color of the Year

All images via:

Hello everybody. Pantone has revealed the yearly color of the year for 2015! A bit early you may say but once you get a load of this color- you won’t really mind it. In 2014 the color was the bright, flirty, and fun orchid, well, 2015’s color goes by a name not very well known but the shade itself has been used obsessively (especially in beauty). Say hello to Marsala!Pantone_Color_of_the_Year_Marsala_Intermission_Story_One_Image copy“A UNIFYING ELEMENT – The impactful, full-bodied qualities of Marsala make for an elegant, grounded statement color when used on its own or as a strong accent to many other colors.” – PantonePantone_Color_of_the_Year_Marsala_Intermission_Story_Two_Image copy“A TASTEFUL HUE – Much like the fortified wine that gives Marsala its name, this tasteful hue embodies the satisfying richness of a fulfilling meal while its grounding red-brown roots emanate a sophisticated, natural earthiness.” – PantonePantone_Color_of_the_Year_Marsala_Intermission_Story_Three_Image copy“A HEARTY YET STYLISH TONE – Add elegance to any room by incorporating this rich and welcoming hue in accent pieces, accessories and paint. Marsala’s plush characteristics are enhanced when the color is applied to textured surfaces, making it an ideal choice for rugs and upholstered living room furniture.” – Pantone

Marsala is a tribute to the deep plums, berries, reds, wines, and burgundies that (beauty wise) have been rockin’ on peoples lips, cheeks and eyes- with a little bit of pink and brown undertones thrown in there. It is indeed, a very lovely, warm, sultry and seductive shade (the total opposite of orchid) that is as unique as its name. Marsala is my favorite Pantone Color of the Year yet! What do you think?
